Firmness and flexibility of Islam in Life of Ukrainian Muslims

Search of knowledge and content of the Almighty is one of the duties of Muslims. This purpose united the gathered on December, 3rd, 2011 in the Kharkov ICC "Al-Manar". This day passed the seminar devoted to actual problems and issues, exciting Muslims of Ukraine. 

On it gathered not only Kharkov Muslims; many arrived from other cities and country regions to listen to the lectures and to take part in discussions.

The meeting started with the speech of the visitor of the action, the well-known Ukrainian Sheikh, Seyran Arifov. He lectured on the topic "Islam – firm and flexible", having shown on the example of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and his associates these two qualities of our religion.

Basic beliefs always stay firm up to the Judgment Day, and no any Muslim has right to renounce them. However, along with it there are such positions of religion which can show flexibility and loyalty, considering time and circumstances. To us, Muslims, it is very important to know and to be able to distinguish, where one should preserve an unshakable firmness and where to show flexibility in search of the best decision of the situation, thus without betraying the religion.

The aspect of the interreligious relations which essence was perfectly disclosed in the lecture of the director of "Al-Manar" ICC, Otman Shadi, "Relation of Muslims to non-Muslims", became continuation of this topic. In it he has shown how Muslims should display tolerance and respect to adherents of other faiths who do not display enmity to them because of their religion on numerous examples from life of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).

Also, developing the topic of interpersonal interaction, it was impossible to ignore the issue of corresponding to the norms of religion dialogue of Muslims with each other. Therefore already after the end of the seminar, Sheikh Arifov spoke with the lecture "Ethics of disagreements between Muslims". It gave a chance to be convinced once again that pluralism of opinions of Muslims in some issues is the favor of Allah the Almighty and makes our religion live and actual for all times.
