It is the seventh time that the annual camp in the nature’s lap, which has already been traditional one, was organized on 13-15 July in the town of Konstantinvka by the All-Ukrainian Association of Public Organizations (AAPO) “Alraid” and the Religious Administration of Muslims of Ukraine (RAMU) “Ummah”. The participants were enjoying the time with double benefit in the encampment pitched near a water pool, as water and fresh air were useful for body, whereas learning, collective prayers, discussions of vital issues and search for their solutions were good for mind and soul.
This year camp brought together nearly 60 participants coming not only from Donbass (Donetsk, Lugansk, Makeyevka, Krasnoarmeysk, Snezhnoye, Shakhtersk, Krasny Luch, Stakhanov, Severodonetsk), but also from Kiev and Kharkov. It was Islam that could unite Ukrainians, Russians, Tatars, Uzbeks, Lezgins, Avars, Georgians, Talyshs and Palestinians in spite of cultural diversities, giving them brotherhood and understanding.
The program of events started after the Friday prayer. Food for thought was prepared for imam-hatybs Rinat Habibutdinov, Rustam Husnutdinov, Muhammad Alustaz, and a psychologist Rifat Sabitov.
It was three days that the participants were listening to the course of lectures on vital topics, “Islamic understanding of brotherhood”, “Sincerity”, and “Preparation for Ramadan”. Also, the program included two discussion lectures “Daily situations encountered by Muslims in our society”. The latter proved to be especially exciting, as each one had a word to say about it. Men gave examples of difficult situations that they had faced or witnessed, and shared experiences of their settlement. Friendly discussion was about dignified ways of one’s behavior in various daily circumstances.
Food for soul and body was not overlooked either, as places for five times daily prayer, cooking, football and volleyball were also arranged in the camp. The azan sounding five times a day, words of remembrance and praise of the Most High, recitation of the Holy Koran and learning of the last Prophet’s biography amidst the picturesque landscape made indelible impression on the participants.
The Muslim community of Donbass is multinational one, hence, the events like this are very important for their well-being and accord, understanding and brotherly relations following best traditions of the Prophet. The participants thanked camp organizers for experiences they gained, and spoke out sincere wishes that this good tradition of organizing the camps should continue as long as possible.
