A German Charitable Fund Muslimehelfen has been helping their Ukrainian adherents for a number of years by now, and today they decided to help those who lost their income (or a considerable part of it) due to the quarantine caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. In terms of their project “Help from the West to the East” on the threshold of Ramadan, we distributed 300 grocery packs containing buckwheat, rice, flour, pasta and, of course, dates for breaking the fast — 5kg each, along with 3L of sunflower oil. Such grocery packs were distributed in Kyiv, Lviv, Novooleksiivka, Zaporizhzhi, Severodonetsk and Kostiantynivka.
Our deepest gratitude for the German Muslims and Muslimehelfen Fund for their big hearts and for helping the Ukrainian Muslims!
Besides, Kyiv Islamic Cultural Centre gave away another 200 grocery packs on the threshold or Ramadan, to poor families who found themselves even in more scrutiny because of the quarantine. Those “iftar packs” (for our main goal was to free the receivers from worries “what are we going to eat for iftar?”) contained chicken, potatoes, onions, sunflower oil, flour, pasta, tea, sugar, and, of course, dates.
There can be no faith without good deeds, for they are exactly what reveals love for thy neighbour, faith and brotherhood. Allah Almighty said in the Holy Qur’an: “Never will you attain the good [reward] until you spend [in the way of Allah ] from that which you love. And whatever you spend - indeed, Allah is Knowing of it.” [Qur’an, 3:92]
We would like to thank every good-doer, and ask Allah to purify them with their charity and reward them with all the best in both this life and Hereafter!
