A hard-driving programme is traditionally held at “Alraid” Islamic Cultural Centres during the month of Ramadan. Iftars, lectures and reminders are held on a daily basis during the last third of the Holy Month at all of our centres (exept Luhansk and Donetsk, which are in the Anti-Terrorist Operation zone this year).
More parishioners than usual come to the mosques. This can be due to the difficult situation in the country — people of all confessions became more frequent guests at their places of worship. They pray and ask the God Almighty to protect them. Increased number of visitors in Kyiv can also be explained by the completion of the reconstruction works at local ICC, which now has a higher capacity.
The composition of the parishioners changed as well this year, as many foreign students left for their home counties earlier this year, fearing for their safety, and at the same time local Muslims became more frequent guests at Ukrainian mosques.
