Muslims who attended a seminar at Kharkiv Islamic Cultural Centre on April 27 could compare themselves to the first adepts of Islam and refresh the pillars of faith in their memory. Shaikh Resim Dervishev, appointed by the AUASO “Alraid” Islamic Culture Department, presented three lectures for listening and discussion.
The Shaikh began with a background of how Islam was spread since the times of Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him. This topic correlated with the third lecture on comparative analysis of how the religion was understood by the first Muslims and how it is understood by their modern coreligionists now. “For the first Muslims Islam was an integral system of world perception. The Companions of the Prophet didn’t split their lives between temporal and spiritual spheres, as they understood that one can be successful in hereafter only because of their temporal affairs, and a pious life in this world is impossible without the right understanding of faith.”
Besides, Shaikh Resim spoke about the importance of knowing the pillars of faith for every Muslim, who will understand their meaning and follow them.
