A women’s seminar devoted to the need to maintain unity and family relations was held on March 7, 2013, in Lviv (a city in Western Ukraine). Because, according to Charles Pinot Duclos, “When clever and honest people act in concert, fools and swindlers retreat”.
Mutually beneficial cooperation and universal prosperity can only be sought for by finding “common denominator” between people with various opinions, religious or cultures. Seeking for it is, therefore, the best way for Muslims and non-Muslims. Only unity and mutual support can allow us to build up a strong, just and happy community.
My home is my fortress
The seminar organizers made specific emphasis on the need to maintain kinship relations, as was taught by Prophet Muhammad (may be peace and blessings upon him). The strength of unity is narrated in the Holy Quran with reference to ants and bees.
The need to maintain kinship relations is shown many times by the Most High through His Prophet (may be peace and blessings upon him). It doesn’t matter whether one’s parents are Muslims, Christians or disbelievers in God, as a faithful one must always maintain relationships with his/her family and, whenever possible, with remote relatives. Because a faithful relative may be the one who will show them that it’s possible to live another way and be a true follower of the values that they declare.
Also, is it important that spouses support each other, as it’s the only way to build up a strong family on which one can rely upon without fear and caution when facing any trial in this life.
