In the end of the Holy Month of Ramadan the AUASO "Alraid" carried out competitions of the Holy Quran among children in Kiev, Kharkov, Vinnitsa, Donetsk and other cities. Young Muslims showed knowledge which they acquired or expanded in the course of this Holy Month.

Participants of the competitions in Kiev and Vinnitsa were estimated by Sheikh Ashur Muhammad who was invited by the AUASO "Alraid" from Egypt for the whole month Ramadan. Sheikh Ashur is a graduate of Al Azhar ash-Sharif; at present he is the scientist-grant-aided student of the Egyptian Ministry on Affairs of Wakufs and Imam of a mosque in Egypt. He stated his admiration of how children for whom the Arabic language is not native are assiduous in studying of the Holy Scripture.

On August, 26th, 2001, on the end of the afternoon prayer in Kiev took place competition  where in the assembly hall of the Islamic Cultural Centre there gathered 37 participants: 20 boys and 17 girls. The age of contestants varied from 4 to 16 years. Participants competed in the following categories: knowledge of one fourth of juz, half of juz, 1 juz, 2 juzes and 3 juzes.

In each category won: Umar Abdulaziz (a quarter of juz), Abdullah Suheyl (half of juz), Abdulbarri Abrurrahmanov (1 juz), Rihmatulla Abrurrahmanov (2 juzes).

Separately were noted achievements of four-year Yasin Guzik, who in this early age already memorized 16 suras; Muhammad Salama who at six-year-old age memorized 1 juz; and also Anisa Suheyl who appeared to be the unique contestant in the category "three juzes" and successfully proved her knowledge in it.

Contestants who occupied prize-winning places in each of the categories, received prizes; other participants of the competition received memorable gifts: toys for very young children and books for more senior ones. Rewarding passed in joyful and solemn atmosphere of the holiday of end of fasting, Id al-Fitr (Uraza Bayram).

Next day, on August, 27th 2011, the Vinnitsa Social Organization "Al-Isra", which is a part of the AUASO "Alraid", organized special competition on Quran reciting for children who do not speak the Arabic language.

"As contestants - children aged from 7 to 14 years - do not know written or oral Arabic, - the main task for us was to impart in them love to the word of Allah the Almighty and to encourage its studying", organizers of the competition stated.

After the end of the competition the participants were awarded by costly presents and certificates of merit.
