Action “Iftar to one who fasts” in Crimea: food kits as an aid to the poor in Ramadan days

21.07.2012 / 1313
On the eve of the Holy Ramadan, regional office of the AAPO “Alraid” in Crimea, with sponsorship  from the Kuwait organization “Ar-Rahman Al-Amin (“World Charity”) and the Kuwait Organization on Collection and Distribution of Zakat, organized distribution of food kits to the poor and orphans.
Actions like this are meant to supply poor Muslims with the required kit of foods for this month, encourage their fasting and implement the Islamic principles of brotherhood and mutual support.

Foods are offered to persons that requested aid from the AAPO “Alraid” earlier this year, orphans and those eligible for social benefits. The need of each family is specified by telephone calls several days before Ramadan.
“Alraid” has prepared 100 kits for the poor in this year. Each one contains foods to meet at least the minimal needs of the average statistical family for this holy month. A kit consists of 10 kg of sugar, 10 kg of rice, 5 kg of dates, 5 kg of pastas, 10 kg of onion, 5 litres of oil and 7 kg of biscuits.

“Alraid” focused distribution of the targeted aid on Crimea, as nearly 500,000 Crimean Tatars live there, of which many are beyond the poverty line after return from deportation. Such action is part of the charity projects network implemented consistently on the peninsula.

Families that receive aid thank the Most High Who inspired in human hearts the need to care about them. Also, they express sincere gratitude to everyone taking part in this good deed, and ask Allah to reward them greatly in this and future world.
