Organization "Al-Amal" Took Part in Festival of National Cultures in Donetsk

On February, 21st, 2012, in Donetsk Recreation Center of M.Gorkiy in honor of the International day of the Native Language passed the Festival of literature and cultures in which participated the part of the AUASO "Alraid", the SO "Al-Amal", which presented the Arabian and Islamic cultures.

 

As the press-service of Donetsk RCA informs, the overall objective of this Festival is stimulation and development of creative activity of teachers and pupils; popularization of language, history, culture, traditions, customs, arts and crafts, life of people living in Donetsk region, familiarizing with the best achievements of the people of Donbass; presentation of national ceremonies, games, crafts, suits, ethnic cuisine.

The festival is carried out already in the fifth time; this year in it participated representatives of 122 nationalities (from 133 living in the region): Ukrainians, Russian, Greeks, Arabs, Uzbeks, Tatars, Jews, Belorussians, Poles, Bulgarians and many others. As Larissa Melnikova informed the organizer, such an active participation of representatives of different ethnic groups (both adults and children) very much pleases, since all of them represented culture, traditions, life subjects, but the main thing — the language of the people. Among 22 acted collectives there were professionals and amateurs.

 

The SO "Al-Amal" represented all luxury of the Arabian and Islamic cultures - from museum pieces, subjects of national life and national suits to tasting of national dishes and such an important attribute of the Arabian hospitality, as coffee.

 

Moreover, representatives of the Social Organization made a presentation of activity of Sunday school in which all interested persons can learn the Arabic language free of charge; participants of creative group performed several nashides (songs) in the Arabic language and have shown the Arabian national dance of "Dabka".

 

For the valuable contribution to the development of the international cultural dialogue in Donbass the chairman of the SO "Al-Amal" was awarded by the diploma of Donetsk regional state administration.

 

Languages are the strongest tool of preservation and development of a material and spiritual heritage of nations of the world — for this reason this holiday is paid such an attention, including representatives of the authorities.

 

The chief of the Central Administrative Board of Science and Education of Donetsk RCA, Yury Solovev, emphasized that all national communities represent the uniform Ukrainian people, and it is extremely interesting to see its colorful variety. Thus nobody should forget their roots and culture; similar actions help to strengthen friendship and mutual understanding between different ethnic communities living in the city.

 

For participation in the festival registered more than 600 participants, however, not all of them could come; the next year the organizers of the action plan to find more spacious premise, capable to contain all interested persons.
