Pilgrims from Ukraine safely reached Saudi Arabia

The plane with the Ukrainian pilgrims, departing from
Kiev in transit through
Istanbul, safely landed at the airport of the
Holy
City of the Prophet –
Medina (
Saudi Arabia). The co-coordinator of the Ukrainian delegation of pilgrims Yasser Amro informed on it in telephone conversation.

According to Yasser, pilgrims without difficulties passed customs control in the local airport and took places in one of reserved before hotels next to the mosque of the Prophet.

Ukrainians will stay in
Medina for some days. In the same place they will execute one of obligatory pillars of Hajj, wearing a special attire – ihram (two simple white coverlets: one covers feet from hips to knees, another one is worn on the left shoulder). These attires symbolize cleanliness of thoughts of pilgrims and their equality before the Almighty.

At the present 150 Ukrainian pilgrims are in
Saudi Arabia. On Friday, on November, 5th, 100 Ukrainian pilgrims went to Hajj from
Kiev, 50 more persons from
Donetsk. Departure of the third group (40 people) will take place on Wednesday, on November, 10th, at 9am from the Islamic Social Cultural Centre of Kiev.

Let us remind, this year the delegation of Ukrainian pilgrims goes to Makkah for performance of Hajj from different regions of
Ukraine (190 persons, among them 39 women, and this is the greatest quantity for the whole history of independent
Ukraine).
