May God help us rely on Him in everything, like Abraham (Ibrahim) did; and may every one of us see a way out of the dead end! May our hearts not be blind and deaf when hardships pass us to catch hold of someone else.
Many of our fellow citizens and people all over the world were tried by the Lord with the loss of their beloved ones, their belongings, their very safety. At the same time, God is testing us, as well, whether our faith is just in our words or also in our deeds. So we try to be generous and help the needy as much as possible, both Muslims and non-Muslims alike.
Today we have a chance to show such generoucity, for Muslims slaughter the sacrificial animals on Eid al-Adha and share the meat with their relatives, their neighbours, and their friends. We dread to be unjust and make sure that every portion of meat consists of parts of equal quality, to avoid the situation when one has all the best parts and another gets all the worst. Yet we don’t have to limit our mercy to one time a year, for we ourselves hope for God’s mercy for us for every single day. So let’s do good as often as we can, and be honest with ourselves and our Lord!
We wish that everyone who finds this year’s Eid al-Adha in the Holy Mecca to complete their perfect Hajj, and that it is accepted by Allah Almighty and their sins are forgiven.
