In Vinnytsia, not only the Muslims are anticipating Eid al-Fitr each year, but the Vinnytsia Regional Children’s Hospital’s little oncology patients as well. One not familiar with Vinnytsia Eid traditions might ask, “Are all of them Muslims?”
No, they aren’t. It’s just Vinnytsia Muslims have a small traditions that lasts for years already: each year, they attend the hospital ward on one of the three days of Eid and make a small feast for its little patients in order to share the joy ad make their life in hospital a bit brighter. This year, the tradition continued, and the visit took place on 17 June.
The parents (who are non-Muslims) don’t mind at all, on the contrary, they thanked the guests for their non-indifference, and for the happy smiles on the faces of their little ones. Balloons, presents, animators, and interesting games added happy emotions to their day. We thank everyone who volunteered and did their best to make that happen!
