A three-day seminar was held in Sumy by a visitor from Kharkiv, shaikh Edgar Devlikamov. He preached the khutbah about the sweetness of faith on Friday.
The programme continued on the weekend. On Saturday there was a lesson for men where much attention to Islamic ethics was paid, as every Muslim must be a walking advertisement for his religion, demonstrating it with his conduct, his deeds, his kind words, tidy appearance and respect for people with other points of view.
After the lunch-break, a quizz was awaiting for the participants with sweet prizes for the winners.
On Sunday, the Shaikh attended classes at Sunday School of Arabic, where he presented every child with sweets and office supplies, and also made a brainstorm in Arabic. He then gave a lecture on Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, and the basics of Islam.
Lesson for women began at 5PM. The initial plan was to end it at 7PM. THe life, however, made some adjustments: the Shaikh pulled free only by 11PM. “As we do not have our own Shaikh, a person with a complex theological education in Shariah, here in Sumy, the believers accumulated a plenty of questions regarding their life situations. We can answer the general questions asked by the new Muslims concerning the basic moments in religion, but in more complex situation specialized knowledge is needed. That reason why our event stretched out late,” — head of the Social organisation “Druzhba” (Ukr. “Friendship”), Mr.Ashkhad Salman, said. The questions mostly concerned charity and the family matters.
