The month of fasting is over, and Ukrainian Muslims headed for the mosque to perform their festive prayer, where they begged the Lord Almighty for peace and welfare for Ukraine and security for our compatriots living on the occupied territories. Nobody wanted to limit themselves by the prayer and the preaching only; each Islamic CUltural Centre tried to organize a festive programme in order to help every visitor feel how special this day was.
Kyiv
The flow of the visitors at Kyiv ICC Mosque went beyond the capacity of the building, even now when men’s part of the mosque occupies two stores of the larger wing of the building. Additional carpets were brought to the yard so that every man could pray with the rest of the believers. The facilitators laid accord with up to 2000 visitors, but the real number overrun all expectations. Representatives of Community of Crimean Tatars in Kiev, as well as the forced resettlers from Crimea and Donbass (including the leaders of Crimean Tatars Mr. Mustafa Dzhemilev and Mr.Refat Chubarov who were banished from their Fatherland by the occupational government), prayed alongside Kyiv Muslims.
After the festive prayer that started on 8:30 AM, a festive programme for kids began: a mini-concert with poetry and nasheeds, two bouncy castles, treats from AUASO “Alraid” and NGO "Community of Crimean Tatars in Kiev", gifts from SO “An-Noor”... There were also treats with tea and sweets the adults, and congratulations for the prize-winners of the Qur’an reciting contest which took place on the last Friday of Ramadan.
Dnipropetrovsk
More than 200 people came for the festive prayer in Dnipropetrovsk for the festive prayer which was covered by the local “Channel 11”. After the prayer, the ICC volunteers invited all the Muslim kids in the city, not only the ICC mosque parishioners, but every Muslim kid in the city, to get treats and gifts.
There’ll be a festive dinner for the Dnipropetrovsk Islamic Cultural Centre volunteers in the afternoon. Those people took part in various charity events all the year round.
