On friday, August 30, 2013, “Become a Donor!” blood donor benefit will take place in Kyiv Islamic Cultural Centre. This is the second benefit of this kind held in ICC after we were successful in doing this last year.

Please check the updates both on our website and on a special “Become a Donor!” page on Facebook.

We for call non-indifferent people to study the “Recommendations and Contraindications” Brochure done by the AUASO “Alraid” and RAMU “Umma”, and take part in the event is they don’t have contraindications for becoming a blood donor. You can register by sending your data (Name, Surname, DOB, cell No) to donor@arraid.org.

Why We Hold The Event In August

After receiving information on critical lack of donors in Ukraine AUASO “Alraid” and RAMU “Umma” made a joint decision to do their best for improving the situation.

Our first blood donorship benefit took place on August 31, 2012 at Kyiv Islamic Cultural Centre. The doctors of Kyiv City Blood Centre told us afterwards that the Muslims’ input was really on time, as not many of even those little existing quantity of donors come to donate in August. That’s why we decided to repeat the event in August, too.

Besides, we have another good reason for choosing this date, as it is after the Holy Month of Ramadan is over and the believers’ blood is purified by fasting.

Let’s Show The True Teaching of Our Religion By Our Good Deeds!

We will make much more for promoting Islam by donating blood and saving lives than by years and years of speaking about the benefits of our religion. There are many people talking of good deeds and only a few really doing them.

But the true Muslim’s good deeds must always follow his good words.

Remember how the Almighty questions us in the Qur’an: “O you who have believed, why do you say what you do not do? Great is hatred in the sight of Allah that you say what you do not do”  [Qur’an, 61:3–4]. This is a very serious warning, and may every heart hear it.

And then again, the God promised a great reward for those saving lives: “whoever kills a soul unless for a soul or for corruption [done] in the land — it is as if he had slain mankind entirely. And whoever saves one — it is as if he had saved mankind entirely” [5:32].
