An open republican chess tournament for youth aged from 10 to 23, students of secondary schools and professional schools and higher education establishments, was organized on Saturday, September 29, 2012, in Simferopol. It organizer was the Public Organization “Emel”, given support from the Republican chess and draught school. They joined effort in pursuing the goal to attract youth to regular chess exercises, to promote and develop this sport, and to find gifted chess players.
Development of sports and good religious relations
According to Mr.Muslim Dervishev, “Emel” chairman, youth with other religious ideologies also took part in a tournament organized by Muslims, once they founded information about the contests in social networks. The tournament, therefore, could offer a floor for cross-national and cross-cultural communications, which is very important in expanding peace and understanding across the peninsula.
30 participants of various age categories came to test strengths in the chess club building. The contest was held by the Swiss system, in 9 tours.
Prize winners
The top place in the contest was taken to Mr. Alexandr Ledakov who was awarded by the cup, the medal, the deed and the money prize. The second and the third place were taken by Mr.Alexanrd Fisch and Mr.Dhilon Jastin, accordingly. They received medals, diplomas and money prizes. Mrs.Viktoria Muhtarova, Mr. Osman Mukuk and Mr.Arsen Mamediyev took the 4th, the 5th and the 6th place, accordingly, and were encouraged by money prizes. Also, there were several nominations to award the youngest players and the best women’s play.
It is the third chess tournament arranged by “Emel“ organization; its activists hope that this good tradition, thanks God, will be unbreakable for many years to come.
