The All-Ukrainian Association of Public Organizations (AAPO) “Alraid” is willing to keep good relations with ambassadors of Muslim states, for mutual assistance and support for the benefit of Ukrainian Muslims. A good tradition of arranging diplomatic iftars is a way of maintaining the contacts. The sincerity is reciprocated by diplomats.
Mrs. Nining Suningsih Rohadiat, Ambassador of Indonesian Republic in Ukraine, invited staff and volunteers of “Alraid” and the Religious Administration of Muslims of Ukraine “Ummah” on August 3, 2012 to her residence for iftar. The host of this evening party, who has made successful diplomatic carrier, is considerate and open to contacts. Each guest was met by her and her husband at the entrance, and she had a topic to discuss with everyone.
Once the party began, Mrs. Ambassador was glad to talk with “Alraid” representatives about her work in Ukraine as the head of diplomatic mission, about her travels across the country (she had visited 20 Ukrainian regions during three years of service), and about impressions and experiences gained here in Ukraine. She drew interesting parallel between establishment of Indonesia as a democratic state and analogous experiences of Ukraine, and pledged to do her best for further strengthening and expanding of business and cultural links between the two countries.
When the time for fast breaking came, Mrs. Nining Suningsih Rohadiat was coming up each guest and offering him/her dates and Indonesian puff-pastry, and after that she and her husband led the guests to the place of performing the evening prayer.
After the collective prayer the guests were invited to the table where the conversation continued with degustation of Indonesian meals. Mrs. Ambassador was gladly speaking about the significance of subjects painted on the pictures and culture of her country, whereas her husband showed the national garment of various Indonesian regions by taking fancy-dress toys.
