The trade mark “Nasha Ryaba”, one of the most successful brands of “Mironovsky Khleboprodukt” company, launched another production site (in addition to the existing one located in Stepantsy village of Cherkassy region) specializing on production of chicken slaughtered according to Shariah conditions. The new production line launched in trial regime at the end of June 2012 is undergoing production facilities adjustment.

The new line located in Vinnitsa is designed for future export supplies of frozen chicken to Middle East and African countries. As most of them are Muslim ones, the producer plans to meet the existing demand for halal chicken. In addition, “Nasha Ryaba” expects to meet the growing domestic demand in the product corresponding with the “halal” standard.

The halal production is going to start on August, 20, when the expert conclusion will be issued about correspondence of the production facilities to production (production process and production output) criteria laid by Shariah. This coincides with the date of celebrating the end of fast in Ramadan, Id-Al-Fitr, also expected this year on August, 20.

At first, frozen and cooled halal chicken will be produced for domestic market, and full-scale production, both for domestic and export market, will start up at the end of 2012, when the company administration expects to pass accreditation for the exports to Muslim countries.

The package of frozen products will have the mark “halal”, not envisaged so far in the package design for cooled products. Change in the package design for cooled chicken is being considered now by administration of “Mironovsky Khleboprodukt” company, to put the mark on. Until then, consumers should be oriented, as before, by producer’s address and special code on the package.

It should be noted that the first chicken producing line that meets “halal” standard was opened by “Nasha Ryaba” in 2009, in the village of Stepantsy. Since early 2012 and on, once “Alraid” signed new agreement with “Nasha Ryaba”, Ukrainian Muslims could buy halal chicken in all the food stores, markets or supermarkets in any Ukrainian city.
