According to the announcement of the Religious Administration of Muslims of Crimea and the Religious Administration of Muslims of Ukraine “Ummah”, confirmed by the resolution of the European Council for Fatwas and Research, Ukrainian Muslims begin to fast this year on July, 20. The new moon that marks the beginning of Ramadan occurred on Thursday, July, 19. It could be watched in Makkah and most of Arab and Muslim countries.

The occurrence of the next new moon signifies the end of the Holy Ramadan and coming of fast breaking holyday, Id Al-Fitr (Turkish Uraza-Bayram). Its estimated beginning in this year falls on August, 19.

The Association “Alraid” and the Religious Administration of Muslims of Ukraine “Ummah”  are in a hurry to congratulate all the Muslims with the coming holy month and wish them strong faith, religious excellence and God’s pleasure.

On the eve of Ramadan – 2012 (1433 by hijra), the Religious Administration of Muslims of Ukraine “Ummah” and the All-Ukrainian Association of Public Organizations “Alraid” invited, by tradition, theological scholars from Egypt and Saudi Arabia to Ukrainian Islamic cultural centers, to extend and enrich the knowledge of Ukrainian Muslims. They will be leading collective prayers, teaching local Muslims to read the Holy Koran and delivering lectures.
