The Ukrainian delegation included imams of mosques, representatives of social organizations and employees of the Association "Alraid" from different regions of the country. Including heads and members of the Youth Organization "Emel", the Female Organization "Maryam", the Kharkov Social Organization "Al-Manar", the Ukrainian Center of Islamic Studies, the Information Department, the Female Committee and other divisions of the Association "Аlraid".
Many professors and sheikhs, who conducted lectures for the visitors from Ukraine, are well-known scholars who got high degree of education in various specializations and wide experience in distribution of correct understanding of Islam worldwide.
The international center "Al-Wasatiyya" is opened in Kuwait in 2006 and its activity is supported by the state government. In the center are developed and realized programs for carrying out of courses on moderation in Islam worldwide. Similar seminars are carried out for representatives of Muslim communities of various countries and regions. Participants receive certificates of participation in training of the center.
What is "moderation in Islam"?
As it was explained by the chairman of the center "Al-Wasatiyya" and the first deputy of the minister of wakufs and Islamic affairs of the State Kuwait, Adel Al-Falyah, idea of moderation in Islam is not something new, "golden mean" is that example of understanding of religion which was shown by the Prophet of the Almighty, Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).
In the Holy Quran Allah, addressing to Muslims, tells, "Thus, have We made of you an Ummat justly balanced, that ye might be witnesses over the nations, and the Messenger a witness over yourselves" (The Holy Quran, 2:143).
The dialogue concerns principles of understanding of moderation, ability to recognize a different opinion and to be respectful to it, to coexist in the world with the surrounding society. All these principles are stated in clear verses of the Holy Quran and examples from life of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).
